Rebecca Plachte-Zuieback

Rebecca Plachte-Zuieback, known as Becky, is a Northern California textile artist who creates whimsical, intricate worlds entirely from fabric. Her original textile collages are composed of hundreds of individually cut and carefully arranged pieces of fabric, brought together through machine stitching to create richly textured landscapes filled with color, movement, and unexpected little details.

Before becoming a full-time artist, Becky spent 15 years working as a registered nurse, including seven years in intensive care. In 2023, she made the leap from nursing to pursue her lifelong love of art. What began as a creative outlet has grown into a flourishing artistic practice, with her work now finding homes in private collections across the country.

Becky's creative process is entirely intuitive. She doesn't begin with sketches or carefully mapped-out compositions. Instead, a single scrap of fabric might inspire a winding river, a glowing sky, or an entire imaginary landscape. From there, the world unfolds organically, one tiny piece at a time. Her work celebrates the beauty of connection, the joy of coexistence, and the extraordinary possibilities hidden within ordinary materials. Animals of all kinds share her colorful worlds, often living together in unexpected harmony. The more closely you look, the more there is to discover.

Sustainability is woven into every aspect of Becky's practice. She has collected and saved fabric scraps for years, finding new purpose for even the tiniest remnants. Her commitment to creating with what already exists is both an artistic philosophy and a gentle reminder that beauty can emerge from the things we might otherwise overlook.

Becky's artwork has been exhibited at fine art festivals and exhibitions throughout the United States, and she continues to share her work with audiences who are often surprised to discover that every inch of her vibrant compositions is made entirely from fabric.
