Currently working in acrylics on canvas I have also worked in oils, pastels, etching,
photo-silkscreen, and photography. Born in Indiana, I have a BA from Purdue
University majoring in Art History with a minor in Fine Art Painting and an MA from San
Francisco State University in Theatre Arts.
My latest work is a series of related works call “Animal Thoughts.” The series was
inspired by two trips to Africa. Each animal has a unique character – a way of looking
that expresses what they might be thinking. Through my paintings I try to interpret
what I think animals might be trying to say to us.
The prior series was called "Ripped Reality" where I explored recombinant reality,
reassembling reality according to my emotional whim and courting the "line" between
